my brilliant puppy...

DH is on the road for the next few weeks building feedlots, so that has meant that gaylin has been staying at home alone during the day (instead of going to jimmy & mango's to play with cousin roscoe). When left to her own devices, gaylin has destroyed the same location in my flower bed twice (the first time was a pair of a purple flower that starts with N that i can't think of, and the second time was a pair of clematises and their climbing tower)...she seems to think that particular spot is her bed (even though there is PLENTY of green grass around the yard for her to lay on to her heart's content!).

DH and i thought that maybe if we took gaylin's doggy bed from the entryway and put it in the garage she'd stop laying in my flower bed. i decided to try that theory out first thing yesterday morning, and i had high hopes for success.

i pulled into the yard last night and discovered that i may have been successful, but my puppy is brilliant!

(puppy is the black spot in the center of the picture)

she jumped off when i got close...

so there you have it. if you want your dog to stay out of your flowers, put her bed in the garage. she will then spend all day dragging it all over the yard, covering it with grass clippings, finally settling in the prime driveway spot, and will lay on it all day...

needless to say, gaylin is visiting cousin roscoe today...thanks for the doggy daycare mango:)!
